Nashville-based alternative rock band, Betcha, released their next single titled, “Closer to the Sun,” this Friday.
The four-piece band met in Belmont University and first united under the name “Wilder,” then won a school-sponsored Battle of the Bands. With the support of GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Kaleo), they were signed to Atlantic Records, then became known as Betcha. Betcha is a combination of the first letters in each member’s names: Ben (lead guitar), Taylor (bass and keys), Charlie (vocals and guitar), and Chase (drums). They are continuing their project while living under one roof as they redefine twenty-first century rock music with a pairing of pop and electronic elements.
Betcha is a band that you should keep on your radar. “Closer to the Sun,” is the perfect track to be released in the heat of summer.
Fans of the 1975’s self titled album should keep their eyes on this four- piece band. Giving similar laid back, lighthearted sound with heartfelt lyrics, the new single will make you swoon for the nostalgia of a meaningful summer love that lingers even as it’s long gone.
This song sounds like it will be a radio hit. I can picture friends dancing and smiling along to the warmth of the electronic pop elements, or rocking along to it in their car with the windows rolled down as they experience life and youth at its fullest.
“Closer to the Sun,” is a song to blast and play on repeat on a sunny day road trip. The cool guitar fingerings fill the ears with warmth, vocals electrically charging the coziness of lighthearted love.
The song came out paired with a creatively funny new music video. Mixed with the vintage film greens, yellows, and oranges, the video is visually stunning and vivid in imagination as the band mates perform sequences and training on how to become free as a bird for a girl.
