Beach Weather Releases “Trouble with This Bed”

Everyone has had those days where they have trouble getting out of bed. Where they don’t want to start the day, where the most impossible thing to do is leave the warm comfort of their bed. Glass Beach address these feelings on their latest single, “Trouble with This Bed”.

Beach Weather is an alternative pop band formed in the mid 2010s. Their first release was the EP “What a Drag”, which helped the band gain traction and a fanbase. The band states that they are from Beach Weather, USA, with all the members coming from different roots.

“Trouble With This Bed’s instrumentation is fun and bouncy with glassy synths. The vocals flow smoothly over the steady drumbeat. The upbeat tempo betrays the lyrics of the song- they are from being upbeat.

Beach Weather use a bed as a placeholder and symbol for the various things going wrong in someone’s life. The feelings of loneliness that arise from realizing your partner isn’t there with you. Doing drugs to avoid problems and lying in your bed high all the time. Tossing and turning as sleep avoids you. Beach Weather ties all these negative emotions in a flash of brilliant songwriting with the place we so often feel them- alone in our beds.

“Trouble With This Bed is a song about the melancholy loneliness we all fall victim to from time to time. Whether it’s longing for a lost flame, a past love or the struggle of leaving the security and safety of your own bed. It is a love song as much as it is a song about grief and self-reflection.”
