BABYMETAL Release “MONOCHROME,” A Forthcoming Single Toward Upcoming Concept Album

Last year BABYMETAL were “sealed” from the world after a successful 10-year journey. In April 2022, THE OTHER ONE restoration project began to recover the BABYMETAL we never knew existed within a virtual world called the METALVERSE. A total of 10 songs have been discovered within THE OTHER ONE restoration project, with each song representing a unique theme based on 10 separate parallel worlds that they have discovered.

One of the discovered 10 parallel worlds is MONOCHROME and this 2nd pre-release digital single “Monochrome” centers around this theme. The song captures a gentle yet powerful melody coloring a monochromatic world: the hopeful wish on Ragnorok, which signifies doomsday in Norse mythology, twinkling across the starry skies in rainbow colors. The lyrics portray the inner struggle between a hopeful wish in a hopeless world.

Ahead of BABYMETAL’s concept album THE OTHER ONE due March 24th, 2023, the band have released their second single “Monochrome” which is available for download and streaming along with the band’s first ever official lyric video also available to watch on their official YouTube channel. Five pre-release digital singles are due to be available worldwide for download and streaming ahead of the album’s release, including the first single “Divine Attack – Shingeki -” which launched the band’s return nearly a month ago.

After BABYMETAL make their official return on January 28th and 29th of next year at Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall, they have just announced that they will be joining Swedish metal superstars Sabaton on their European Arena tour in April.
