Awaken The Giant Makes Us “Feel Alive” With New Single Release
Rock band Awaken The Giant recently dropped their single, “Feel Alive”, on February 14th -marking their first release of 2022. Originating in Houston, Texas, Awaken The Giant was created by Blake Suarez and Tab Cocchia. The two musicians had met through working together previously in another band. When they had realized that they had similar creative visions, the two band-mates broke off from their group and formed their own music project together. Suarez and Cocchia had hoped that by becoming the sole songwriters of their group, they would be able to create a heavier, harder hitting sound.
Now, in 2022, that is exactly what the duo is doing. After releasing their debut single, “I Fooled You”, in 2021, the post-grunge band has amassed over 9.3 million streams for that song alone. Their unique, intense discography has garnered them a dedicated following of fans with nearly 51k monthly listeners on Spotify. “Feel Alive”, one of their most popular releases, is a featured track on their EP “Black & Blue”. The song is, as described by the band, “about being caught up in depression and addiction, being in a crowded situation and not feeling part of it, and feeling eager to fast forward to the future in hopes of a better life and to feel alive again”.
“Feel Alive” is introduced by heavy electronic elements, gradually leading into and pairing with a crazy performance on electric guitar. The song wastes no time and is immediately high energy and hard hitting. The guitar performances featured on the track are phenomenal, almost making it hard to focus on anything else. However, the vocals steal back the show at about 20 seconds into the song. “Feel Alive” is everything that we know and love about hard rock, but with the modern twist of electronic elements.
