Ashnikko Dazzles Again With A Live, Vevo Studio Performance!
When Ashnikko started to blow up, audiences were blessed with an amazing artist who (refreshingly) sounds just as talented and energetic live as she does on official recordings. Just about a year ago, Ashnikko performed hit songs “Daisy” and “Deal With It” for Vevo DSCVR and has returned to dazzle listeners with live performances of “Panic Attacks In Paradise” and “Maggots.”
On the surface, “PAIP” and “Maggots” appear to be each other’s opposites, but as Ashnikko describes, “When I get really upset and I’m going through it, I cry, but then also rage.” The songs do balance one another out, and when listened to back to back, you see the story play itself out.

“Panic Attacks In Paradise” details a state of mind that everyone has gone through at one time or another. The artist describes “PAIP” as “a commentary on how much I was annoying myself at the time. I was healthy and my career was going great. I was in a metaphorical “paradise.” But alas my brain chemistry had other plans. I was an insufferable mess, so obsessed with my own hurt. I was leading it around with me like a rabid dog, letting it bite anyone I came into contact with.”
The song really highlights those moments when you know that you’re supposed to be happy, but just can’t help but to listen to your own intrusive thoughts. The recent performance of this song at Vevo Studio has Ashnikko singing this song in a way that audiences have never heard the singer before. She remains stationary throughout the entirety of the song; an abnormal sighting from the normally “larger than life” performer. However rare, Ashnikko’s vocals and storytelling abilities shine through this performance and deliver a breathtaking and vulnerable rendition of “Panic Attacks In Paradise” that you won’t want to miss.
During the Vevo DSCVR session, Ashnikko also performs a heater of a song, “Maggots.” The song takes the pain expressed in “PAIP” and turns it into pure, unadulterated rage. When asked about the anger behind the song, Ashnikko explains that with “Maggots” she is “casting a protective shield of electricity around myself and daring anyone to try to cross it. I’d rather be a raging b*tch than let people take advantage of my kindness. I will take every parasite burrowing its way into my flesh and flatten it under my boots.”
In this lively performance, Ashnikko apologizes that the sad lives of her haters are never getting better. “Maggots” is the perfect workout song. It pairs perfectly with road rage. Feel like plotting revenge? “Maggots” will definitely put you in the vengeful mindset.
You can listen to “Panic Attacks In Paradise” and “Maggots” now on all music streaming platforms. While you’re there, make sure to check out the rest of Ashnikko’s music.
