Ascend In Misery Motivates And Thrills With ‘Raison Detre’
In a matter of hours we officially bid adieu the year 2022. With all its ups and downs (like every year for that matter), we’ve weathered it all. Like a prized fighter, we rolled with the punches with all our strength and might. Sure it wasn’t glamorous (most of the time) but we still managed to thrive and stand tall. We had to because we’ve got that fire in us and that mission to fulfill our raison d’etre or our reason for existence. In a way, we all played the role of hero set out on a quest of a lifetime and we just won big time!
To celebrate this triumph as well as to give us a jolt as we dive into 2023 is the song “Raison Detre” by the Wisconsin metal core band Ascend In Misery. Released last December 16th in major streaming platforms, this is a tough as nails track inviting us to wake up from our slumber and look for our “Raison D’etre” no matter the cost. If we’ve already found it though, it still urges us to stay steadfast and committed to it. Even when the darkness tries to swallow us whole, never surrender and fend it off relentlessly! Exactly as a true warrior would when entrenched with creatures/ villains threatening their very existence.
With that being said, Ascend In Misery’s “Raison Detre” is a badass tune that needs to be in everyone’s playlist. While not for the faint of heart, it’s message coupled with the band’s overall musicality is worth our utmost attention. Not just because it makes us feel like we’re in a high stakes action scene, rather it’s a genuine attempt to help us ascend in the misery we might find ourselves in.
