For the past few months, online music company “Bandcamp” have been waiving their share of sales to support artists impacted by Covid-19. The waiving of fees has been going on since March for one Friday each month. During the waive of fees in May, artists earned $7.1 million from Bandcamp sales. They have posted two lists of artists and labels donating to donating their share to organizations in support of racial justice and change—inspired by the recent global protests over the murder of George Floyd. Also, on Friday, June 19th, they will be donating 100% of their sales to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund to support their work.
