Post-hardcore band based in Sacramento, California, Aquageist, offers a fresh take with their gritty storytelling and melodic sound. Formed in 2018, the four-piece joined forces over time out of their love of music, and dropped their first collection of tracks last August, a short EP titled Lifeless On The Interstate.
As an independently produced and curated group of artists, Aquageist is just rising on the radar in the music scene after performing their second show ever last Saturday, April 3rd. With the stage in a shaded backyard in Fair Oaks, the landscape was filled with friends, new fans, and fresh BBQ and ice cold drinks. The performance embodied a nostalgia and a new beginning as shows begin their return from the previous year, drained from its music scene.
Appearing on the lineup with five other bands– Petroglyphs, XMALXOMX, Here At The End, Fallout Kings, and The Left Hand– the event was created to benefit the homeless community in the area, faced in crisis as the world shut down around all of us. Aquageist energized the crowd with their larger-than-life and practiced presence. Upon stumbling into their work, you would hardly think that they are a new band just crossing the horizon from their first release. And audience and band members alike expressed a near desperation to experience the camaraderie in a love for live performance, human presence, the dust-filled atmosphere of outdoor shows, and music blaring in the ears.
If you’re looking for something new to listen to, put Aquageist on your radar. They have much more in store for the years to come as they grow in their craft. Their debut EP, Lifeless On The Interstate, is available now on all streaming platforms. Listen now!
