JT Woodruff, Hawthorne Heights co-founder and the curator of both The 20 Years Of Tears tour and Is For Lovers Festival, joins Reddit’s AMA (ask me anything) series, May 29, for a conversation about the upcoming tour and festival, as well as the 20th anniversary of the band’s album, The Silence in Black and White. Fans can tune in at https://www.reddit.com/r/Music/.

“Let’s face it, 20 Years is a long time…but you only feel OLD, because you act OLD. Is For Lovers Festival and 20 Years of Tears are specifically designed to turn back the clock, and reconnect you with your friends and the music that helped shape who you are. EMO just hits different as an adult, and your ticket is a first class seat in our time machine. Ask me anything about Hawthorne Heights, EMO, Is For Lovers Festival!”

Of course the top question is a classic one that everyone is dying to know, “What 4 albums are on your emo Mount Rushmore”. JT answered “This is an awesome question! Thursday – Full Collapse Taking Back Sunday – Tell All Your Friends My Chemical Romance – Welcome To The Black Parade Jimmy Eat World – Clarity. Honorable Mentions HH – The Silence In Black and White AFI – Sing The Sorrow Silverstein – When Broken Is Easily Fixed”. With that answer, sparked quite the debate in the thread, especially with his choice of Welcome To The Black Parade over Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, many users pointed out. Many questions popped up similar to this one like his inspiration for his music, his musical hero and such.

Events like these give us all the fans a chance to have a “one on one” conversation with the artist(s) and even spark up conversations and debates with fellow listeners, which is such a fun and unique experience thanks to social media platforms. To be able to get your questions answered, hear their opinions on things and just get a deeper look into their mind and prove to be mom, that it was never a phase

“20 Years of Tears is a celebration of the genre that raised an entire generation, with basement-born bands to stadium headliners. Emo comes in all shapes and sizes and has touched the hearts and minds of people from all walks of life,” JT shared as the 20 Years of Tears tour was announced. “With some of the biggest names of the MySpace Generation, this lineup is designed to give you the energy you had while feeling so misunderstood, as a ‘misguided’ youth.   This is not just a summer concert, it is a must-see event that can reignite the fire inside all of us as we sing and scream together like it’s 2004.”

The tour incorporates the recently announced Is For Lovers Festival, which features performances from The All-American Rejects, Underoath, Motion City Soundtrack, Less Than Jake, Thursday, Yellowcard, Saosin, Hot Mulligan, Movements and more.

Tickets for all dates are on-sale now. For further information, VIP packages and ticketing links, visit Hawthorneheights.com/tour.
