Alternative rock gets relatable in All Better’s new song”Instruction Manual”

A trio from Brighton, the “not pop-punk” band All Better has crafted a sure-of-itself alt-rock anthem with their new song “Instruction Manual.” Layers of drums, punk-leaning guitars, and bass interlock beneath confident vocal lines asking, “do you ever worry the world is really laughing at you?” With modern angles meeting a nostalgic alternative sound, the band resembles a present-day Jimmy Eat World, bringing all the tight, classic rock rhythms along with it. A deceivingly optimistic call out on the world, “Instruction Manual” is the perfect track for a summer afternoon, driving down the highway with the sun in the rearview.

“This song explores control and manipulation and what it is to discover those behaviours in someone close to you. In the background, mankind is also currently reflecting on its own behaviour, and as we discuss our ideas with one another, a lack of courtesy seems commonplace. As society begins to aggressively censor itself and rearrange acceptability, it evokes a similar hollow feeling of being uniform, reduced, and instructed to be something other than yourself, much like the manipulation from a friend or family member.”

“Instruction Manual” is a single from All Better’s upcoming debut album How To Be Alone, which is set to be released on May 6th. Formed in Brighton, England in 2018, the band is gradually becoming known for their signature high-energy punk sound and infectious pop hooks. Their increasing popularity has led them to tour the UK and mainland Europe a number of times and allowed them to share stages with the likes of legends like Remo Drive, As It Is, Roam, Spanish Love songs and Pkew Pkew Pkew.

All Better has a growing discography, having previously released two extended plays, A Turn at Being Cool (2018) and How It All Worked Out (2019), which are accompanied by visually compelling music videos.  In 2021 they released a new track titled “Jokers Song” prior to this most recent release. With much more music on the way, there’s a lot to look forward to from All Better. Listen to “Instruction Manual” below!
