The world of synthy alternative pop is IN, and Allie X is leading the charge with her avant-garde visual sense and music tastes as she brings her latest album, Girl With No Face, on tour.

Check out Allie X’s Black Eye Music Video to see just a taste of what we mean…

Joining with her on a sold out evening in San Francisco’s The Independent, we were eager to witness the mysticism behind Allie X, especially within the walls of one of the venues that helped kickstart several musicians into mainstream fame.

The crowd was impeccably dressed in their best vintage wear. Sharp peter-pan collars, spiked chokers, and bows contrasted one another in a way that instead of clashing, they all matched beautifully. And as it’s Pride Month, we also wanted to offer a special highlight to this performance as Allie herself is a huge advocate and ally for the LGBTQ+ community. In her life she sponsors and spearheads charity events while empowering all who follow her journey. In this evening in particular, she featured local drag queen, Bonita Rose, to open for the evening.

Allie began her performance four new tracks from the new album, wearing sunglasses and bathing in the pale stage light. The synths and heavy beat contrasted her clean, soft vocals. Each soaring note showcased her talents beautifully and confirmed in fact that she’s an icon to come.

“Girl With No Face,” the title track, was in fact our biggest highlight of the night. Confirmed to have intense vocal training, we hear it most in the “ohs” in the chorus before an electric scream ties the piece together.

Fan favorites included “Off With Her T*ts,” “B*tch,” and a new one yet to be released. Allie X acknowledged a few familiar faces in the crowd since her last performance in San Francisco four years ago before signing “You Slept On Me.”

I held my tongue for about long enough
It’s about damn time that I spoke up
I’m an icon, honey, this isn’t a chore
And I need to make money so give me yours
You missed my debut then my renaissance
You missed my late romantic, my veridict au France
Now I’m a modern bitch and I’m getting tough
Better make it up, kids, enough’s enough

Stay tuned for what Allie X is up to next! One thing for sure is that we will be…
