As multi-talented singer/songwriter Abigail Bleu prepares to release an upcoming EP, written with Pink Sweat$, she keeps fans tuned in and excited with a string of singles, the latest of which is “50/50.” This track highlights the importance of a relationship being of equal standing on both sides in order for it to thrive, but it also has less wholesome undertones as the lyrics navigate the overwhelming feelings of a ride-or-die type of love.

Abigail Bleu is a 21-year-old artist from New Jersey who grew up in a small town and found herself in music. From a young age, she was drawn to artists such as Jimi Hendrix and Amy Winehouse, and more recently has been inspired by Rihanna and Ariana Grande. She was raised in a big family of musicians and music lovers, all of whom encouraged her to make her mark on the world with her voice. She holds tight onto her love for God, her family, and music; she began singing worship songs in church services and nursing homes, touching the lives of others. Her roots have established who she is and what she works on today. She has found her sound and voice in the lane of pop/R&B and continues to show tremendous growth as she releases songs that she is truly in love with.

With mellowed guitar plucks setting the backdrop for the track, listeners are driven to focus their attention on Abigail’s pristine vocal work. A classic R&B sultriness resonates through her voice, but Abigail also maintains a tenderness that complements the stripped-down soundscape. The lyrics navigate the ride-or-die relationship, listing what Abigail is willing to do for her significant other, so long as they’re by her side. When the track approaches its midpoint, the sound changes to include more of a resounding beat that underlies more pronounced vocals. “50/50” draws forth an undeniable sway with its beat production and vocal complements and is the type of track that you need to bump with the bass turned up.
