‘Fall In Love’ with Icona Pop’s Newest Hit

One listen, and you’ll be infatuated with Icona Pop’s recent single. The Swedish electro-pop duo released “Fall In Love” with a music video to match. The song draws you in with its pulsating synthesizers. To the tune of catchy melodies and a driving beat, this track tells all about what it means to be head over heels for someone new.

“Fall In Love” is about that moment when you fall sooo hard for someone it’s almost like hitting a wall; you get all dizzy and almost lose touch with the ground and can’t focus on anything else. The track is kind of an experiment for us to play around with our poppier side; we wanted to play around with mixing up our lyrics, but approach the melody almost like you would with a sample, except it’s just us singing.

Icona Pop, made up of Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo, sings about the oh-so-familiar feeling of falling for someone, something you “can’t control or shut it down.” The duo sings that this feeling takes over them, 24/7, all-consuming and electrifying.

The accompanying music video was directed by Kassandra Powell. Zooming, spinning shots create a dizzying effect that represents what that kind of love feels like — bewildering in the best way possible, an addicting adoration.

You hit me thousands miles an hour, baby
It’s like you stripped me off my powers
You got me shakin’
You got me breakin’ all the rules
You set my icy heart on fire

~ “Fall In Love”

The single preceded Icona Pop’s second studio album, Club Romantech, which is now available on all major streaming platforms. The album was released via Ultra Records/Iconic Sound Recordings /TEN Music Group. Alongside other singles from the album, like “Where Do We Go From Here” and “Desire,” “Fall In Love” fits right in as one of the songs of the summer.

As Icona Pop, we can release a pop tune or a super hard dance song, and that’s who we are. When we started to write this album, we didn’t have any rules. We just had a vision we wanted to share with our fans. We’re inviting them into our world.

~ Caroline Hjelt

Since 2009, Icona Pop has been the epitome of a free spirit, bringing hit after hit to the dance floor. Known for breakthrough hit “I Love It [feat. Charli XCX],” this dynamic duo has shaken the grounds of the genre. Its synth-driven sound is infectious, amping up the energy for anyone who hears their work.

We put all of our problems and stress into what we’re doing. We love disguising our heartbreaks and sadness in uplifting songs you can dance to. It was a very emotional process, and it’s all in the music.

~ Aino Jawo
