With all of the great choices of artists to see and only so much time, you may be overwhelmed to figure out who to fit in your schedule. If that’s the case, read on for my five must-see artists!
21-year-old Mason Maynard hails from the Manchester scene and has already begun to build a name for himself being named as the “one to watch” by BBC Radio 1‘s Monki and Solardo, respectively. With such confident in MAson’s ability, Solardo quickly locked Mason in as a Solardo Sessions resident, playing up and down the country in some of the most well-respected clubs such as The Warehouse Project, Leeds Festival, Stealth Nottingham, Switch Southampton, and many more. With releases on Cajual, Repopulate Mars, Solä, Defected, and Relief Records with his collaboration EP with Green Velvet, Mason has rose through the ranks as a young emerging artist. His catchy and groovy house beats, mixed with minimally tasteful vocals, show the depth of aristry Mason has that makes him stand out from the broad umbrella of Manchester music and why he has received support from heavy weights in the scene like Pete Tong, Lee Foss, Claude Von Stroke, Hannah Wants, and many more. Talented Brazilian-born ANNA has been unstoppable with productions such as “Hidden Beauties” and her powerful remix of Jon Hopkins‘s “Singularity,” garnering acclaim from every corner of the industry and achieving large streaming numbers on Spotify. Her success has been over two decades in the making, stretching back to the nightclub her father owned in the countryside outside São Paulo, where she honed her craft as a DJ from the age of 14. Her journey since then has been marked by passion, hard work, and unrelenting dedicating to her craft. You can see this when she plays – a skilled and accomplished selector, her performances are energetic, engaging, and captivating. She has been recognized by DJ Mag, Mixmag, and Pitchfork while also playing everywhere from Movement Detroit, Awakenings, Tommorrowland, DC10, and Block in Tel Aviv. Her tasteful brand of techno house is both hard-hitting and emotionally thrilling, guaranteeing a special experience for listeners in all capacities. Coming up in Bristol’s famed dance community, home to pioneers of jungle, drum’n’bass, dubstep, and more, Eli Brown brings a singular vision to the world of electronic music, marked by visceral energy to club sonics ever since his emergence on the scene in 2016. His production style captures the raw atmospherics of his homeland’s icons and paplies them to a blend of house, techno, and full-bodied electronica, custom-built for cavernous warehouse spaces. This sound has helped him rise to prominence in a hotly-contested club scene, rapidly gaining support from the likes of Carl Cox, Adam Beyer, Calvin Harris, Alan Fitzpatrick, Solardo, Green Velvet, and more. His innovative approach to club sounds roots itself in the sinister, placing the listener in the darkest sonic recesses before throwing them onto the dancefloor at breakneck speed, pairing those foreboding textures with a pulsing, destructive rhythm.
