The first single from Flume in 3 years: “Friends” with the upcoming hip-hop artist, Reo Cragun.

Austrailian producer Harley Strete broke his musical silence and re-introduced himself as Flume in recently released mixtape, Hi This Is Flume. With 17 polished tracks, Flume has resurfaced presenting a fresh sound for himself, and it continues in his newly shared single, “Friends.”

Flume surprise announced the single on reddit just 2 hours before its release. His announcement? “Somethings dropping in 1hr & 36 mins,” in reply to a question about upcoming releases, how casual.

“Friends” begins with a soft glitch trickling in, consistent with the DJ’s newly found sound displayed in Hi This Is Flume.

Upcoming hip-hop artist Reo Cragun delivers relatable lyrics about being lied to, suggesting the end of any kind of relationship with this person: “I’m thinking outloud // All that negativity is bringing me down // You’re so toxic, how you live like this? // Don’t wanna be friends…”

“Friends” is the beginning of what will follow Hi This Is Flume, and it’s looking like he will succeed as usual with his music releases. Stream the standalone track “Friends” on Spotify, iTunes, SoundCloud, or with a visualizer on YouTube.
