As we start the year 2020 this also marks the 10th year of the Governors Ball Music Festival. This festival in the Big Apple is nothing short of perfect, and it takes place in Randall’s Island Park, NYC. A lot of music festivals have announced insane lineups such as Hangout, Bonnaroo, Coachella, and more. The Governors Ball really out did themselves this year against all these other insane lineups. Celebrating their 10th year their lineup had to bring big names out like Miley Cyrus, Missy Elliot, Tame Impala, Flume, and Vampire Weekend.
The festival started out small in 2011 with only a couple of artist like, Mac Miller and Passion Pit. A couple of years ago the festival was only a day or two and there were only two staged at the time. The sets never overlapped so allowing everyone to see shows and not miss out. As years go on the festival grows and seems to get bigger names like, Kanye West and Guns N Roses. This 2020 lineup includes artist from 2011 to 2017, but also new artist making their first appearance at the festival. Miley Cyrus is one of the artist newly playing at the festival and last week she made an instagram post. Her post was her with an old guitar saying, “Cash me outside (this years festival gigs.)”
The festival is changing things for the 10th year, including an age policy, new VIP perks, and also more water stations. In Randall’s Island Park the festival will take place June 5th-7th, 2020 in the big city. This lineup is a must see and is diversity of a lot of music genres which will radiate and light this festival up. Tickets go on sale Friday, January 17th at 12:00pm EST and you for sure want to grab tickets. The presale tickets are already sold out so you don’t want to miss this.
