Local Sacramento post-hardcore band, Yunger, is making a name for themselves with hook-ridden vocals and infectious electric guitar melodies. Beginning in 2018, the project started as a couple of musically-passionate guys longing to play some rock and roll together. As they began to establish their sound, they developed a voice that is full of edge, and have over the years played shows all over the west coast, laying the foundation for their future. They weave in a variety of rock genres, as well as surprising elements of shoegaze, and dark pop; abandoning the expectations placed on modern rock music to forge their own path.

In the peak of the pandemic, Yunger took to the studio with Beau Burchell (Saosin, Senses Fail, Middle Class Rut, Hail The Sun) at the helm to create their second EP. While we wait patiently at the brink of the next project’s release, Yunger dropped their latest single, “Gemini,” to sate the appetites of fans.

After playing a set at local hotspot, The Holy Diver, on Wednesday night, Yunger shared their excitement for the single and gave their audience a taste of what the track would sound like live in real life before its official launch onto streaming platforms worldwide on October 29th. With the single came a carefully crafted music video.

Lead vocalist, Jay Malcuit, enters a pale lit room before picking up his signature gold-in-color microphone to lay out the track in full with the rest of the band.
