Let Them Know” is one of those songs that sounds like it’s supposed to be sad, but for whatever reason it just makes you so genuinely happy. Maybe it’s the dreamy guitar strums, the poetic lyrics, or the nostalgiac, mumbly indie-rock vocals. Either way, it’s made its impression on me, making its way to both our Around The World playlist and a spot on my personal Nü Qü playlist.

Born and raised in Dublin, this fast-rising Irish singer songwriter announces his EP Not Real alongside this single “Let Them Know.” Marcus has gained acknowledgement from many Spotify playlists, Irish charts, and even the BBC Radio London.

“There’s a tendency among young people in Ireland not to talk about their feelings. I wrote ‘Let Them Know’ during a period of my life when I was realising the huge benefit of opening up. The message I have tried to relay in this song is that if something is troubling you, talk about it. I decided to print a run of shirts to correlate with the release of this song and sell them in aid of Pieta House, a mental health charity doing incredible work in Ireland.”

Marcus, speaking about the new song

His new EP Not Real is a selection of five diverse tracks of something between folk and hip-hop, born of a variety of influences and inspirations over the years. Stay tuned for this fresh young artist to keep making moves.
