Wreckno on Finding His Space in the Electronic Scene and Making a Name

Wreckno is quickly becoming a household name in the world of electronic dance music and deservingly so. With a loving, but realistic attitude, he serves as living proof that if you focus on the things that truly matter to you, you will achieve everything you could ever dream of. Mixing their long-time love of trap with heavy dubstep, Wreckno curates show-stopping sets packed with high-flying energy and down-dirty beats.

Having grown up 30 minutes from Rothbury, Michigan, home to Electric Forest, Wreckno became enchanted with the electronic music scene and forms of creative expression, including freestyle dance and flow arts. Before their set at BUKU Music + Art Project this year, he spoke with us about how the many intersections of his life are now coming together into his Wreckno project. His energetic performances and exuberant personality have allowed him to bring his unique vision to music cities all over the country. Incorporating his rapping and vocal capabilities into his dubstep sets, Wreckno promises to deliver a unique show experience for all attendees; and you’ll see them start hitting choreography soon as well!

From being a long-time festie kid to now being able to provide representation on-stage to anyone who may need it and from growing up near Electric Forest to being on the bill for this summer, Wreckno is, much like a butterfly, coming out of his coccoon – and uplifting their community while in this part of their journey!
