Rock Super-Group World Gone Cold and Debut Single, “Opposites Attract”

World Gone Cold, featuring members of P.O.D, Demon Hunter, Disciple, The Letter Black, and Attack Attack!, unveil their first hard-hitting single “Opposites Attract.”

A combination of organic metal and radio-ready songwriting encompasses the foundation of a band that began as one man’s solo outlet and quickly transformed into an unprecedented supergroup. This new band arrives armed with songs akin to the timeless catchiness of Rob Zombie or Nine Inch Nails, with the postmodern urgency of Bring Me The Horizon, Architects, and I Prevail.

Mark Anthony, guitarist and co-vocalist for The Letter Black, set out determined to create unapologetically heavy music with memorable melodic bite.

I wanted to make a metal record, just for myself. But the thing about doing a solo album by yourself? It just isn’t as fun.

Anthony reached out to longtime producer Travis Wyrick (10 Years, Adelita’s Way, P.O.D.), who suggested he get in touch with singer Ryland Raus. The former frontman for Solid State Records artist Inhale Exhale was open to the idea, and once he heard a single instrumental track, he came on board.

And for their debut, the intense song shares a common thread in style from all five band members, using their musical background to charge a sound better than ever. “Opposites Attract” creates a blend of modern, yet at the same time, a naturally nostalgic edge using a catchy melody to drive the force of the song’s concept. Guitars blare throughout the intro’s vocal hook and break into a deep beat drop near the chorus. Smooth vocals contrast the gritty drums and backing screaming vocals. Ultimately, the track is worthy of listening to on repeat, and we wait in anticipation for their upcoming self-titled EP, set to release on March 17th via Rockfest Records.
