Belgian Black Metal trio Wiegedood have announced the upcoming release of their third studio album “There’s Always Blood at the end of the Road” on January 14. The record will be accompanied by a tour across Europe from January to March 2022.

This release will be the group’s first new studio release in over 4 years; their last record, “De Doden Hebben Het Goed II,” came out back in 2017. They also released the live album “Live at Roadburn 2018” two years ago, documenting their performance at the 2018 Roadburn festival in the Netherlands.

In typical genre fashion, the record explores the “filthiest and most disgusting parts of human nature and society,” yet the group diverts heavily from typical Black Metal themes and instrumentation, focusing on internal struggle and strife, exploring suffering as a unifying factor. They go far beyond the typical guitars and rhythm section, augmenting with synths, tape recorders, hot club jazz, and samples.

The tour will begin on January 6 at Q-Factory in Amsterdam. The first leg, which runs through February 6, will take them through Paris, Brussels, Berlin, Budapest, Cologne, and more, with support from Portrayal of Guilt. Full tour dates below:
