Wallice Shares Her Love on “Loser at Best”
Rising popstar Wallice graced her fans with another powerful pop-punk track. In the newly released single, “Loser at Best,” Wallice shares her love for her boyfriend of eight years.
About the song, the Los Angeles singer-songwriter wrote:
This song is about want[ing] to feel needed and being intoxicated by love.
Wallice
Wallice is an expert at combining soft indie pop with rock. It makes sense that she cites both Lana Del Rey and No Doubt as inspirations.
In the verses of “Loser at Best,” there are minimal instrumentals, and Wallice’s voice softly serenades the listeners. However, between the verses and the choruses, the song crescendos into one reminiscent of ’90s rock, filled with guitar riffs and hard drums.
The outro is when Wallice truly shines. Wallice wrote this song while missing her boyfriend while on a trip to London. The song calms, with soft guitars and slightly distorted string instruments, as Wallice softly calls out to her boyfriend, singing:
The wedding bells in the church ring
Sometimes I wonder what we’re worshipping
I just want this forever
I can’t have you so I bought your cologne to make me feel better
Well, I bought your cologne to make me feel better
