Calling All Crows is a nonprofit organization dedicated to spreading information about feminist justice and equality movements, sexual violence prevention tactics and ways to amplify marginalized voices. Using the power of music, they strive to provide both artists and their communities with the fundamental resources needed to enact real social change.

Recently, Calling All Crows announced the official launch of their latest campaign, Voice Your Choice. This campaign is designed to teach fans about reproductive freedom and the ways they can directly get involved, from spearheading educational programs, running community organizations and cultivating long-lasting partnerships. Voice Your Choice seeks to spread information in states with people-powered abortion ballot initiatives. This partnership includes teaming up with artists such as Chadwick Stokes, Julie Williams, Rachel Rose, Xana and Raye Zaragoza to inform their fans about reproductive ballot initiatives at concerts, colleges and online platforms.

The organization hosted their premier kick-off event, AMPlifying Democracy: a Voice Your Choice kick off event on June 5 in Somerville, MA. The campaign’s debut included live performances by Chadwick Stokes, Dispatch’s pianist, and Julie Williams, the CMT Next Women of Country artist.

Stokes signed to join the campaign by announcing the DISPATCH & Amplifying Democracy 2024 Tour, set to begin later this fall. Each of the following shows will have opportunities for fans to register to vote, make a voting plan and sign a voting pledge.

In our efforts to engage music fans in civic engagement this year, we have been listening and connecting with our community and feminist, political thought leaders. Therefore, we are honing our efforts to Amplify Democracy with the Voice Your Choice campaign, focused on educating fans and Generation Z on the state of reproductive freedom and why it’s paramount that they, that we all, Voice our Choice. – Heatherjean Macneil, Calling All Crows Executive Director

Calling All Crows also welcomed their permanent program, Here For The Music, which aims to build a more safe and inclusive environment against sexual violence at music performances. At the Calling All Crows booth, fans can add their thoughts to the “Here For The Music” wall, win prizes, make a voting plan and connect with other individuals who are passionate about both music and social justice.

Voice Your Choice will also be partnering with BallotReady, a non-partisan organization devoted to helping citizens across the United States vote. These actions include consolidating all ballot information to one place and providing personalized, unbiased information to all voters. Engaging with fans in the festival context is so special for us because we are able to provide real ways fans can take action for important social justice causes that we’re championing. Feeding off the positive, fun energy that live music fosters makes being in those spaces so impactful for us as an organization, because we understand that music brings us all together and can be a driving force for social change. – Annie Bailey, Calling All Crows Engagement and Operations Manager

Furthermore, Calling All Crows has been makings its presence known at music festivals across the country, spreading feminist awareness at Kilby Block Party, NICE, a fest and Bonnaroo. For upcoming festival appearances, check out Calling All Crows’ booth at All Things Go, Healing Appalachia and Shangri La. The organization can also be found at select Mitski performances as she goes on tour across the U.S.

Since its founding in 2008, Calling All Crows is committed to its advocacy for reproductive freedom and overall festival safety. Earlier this March, the organization launched three initiatives in honor of Women’s History Month. These included a livestream with Resilient Sisterhood Project, their 16th Annual Benefit Weekend and an event at The Sinclair to officially announce their latest partnership with Reproductive Equity Now.
