The world of tiLLie is patched with glitter-doused edgy guitar and ear-worm melodies. Her latest track, “peachie,” is no exception to this rule. Shortly after catching the attention of Machine Gun Kelly and Kevin Lyman (Vans Warped Tour) during a sold-out acoustic performance in late 2016, it’s been an upward spiral in the multi-instrumentalist and songwriter’s rise to fame.
The “anti-pop” star’s melodies not only linger in the brain, but inspires a transcendence from the boundaries of genre. Coinciding with her first ever tour, a two week stint on Warped Tour, tiLLie independently released 3 singles that became featured in “RockBand,” the video game, played on BBC Radio 1, and more as she climbed the ranks in the music industry. In 2019, tiLLie dropped her Loud Mouth EP and signed with ICM (US) + Paradigm (INTERNATIONAL), which resulted in a busy year of touring around the US and the UK for various festivals, including “Slam Dunk” in the UK and “Summer Fest” in Milwaukee. tiLLie then closed out the year as direct support for Lights‘ sold out tour across the US and Canada before record her upcoming debut album with hit producer ROBOPOP (MARINA, Lana Del Rey, Charli XCX ).
tiLLie’s latest track, “peachie,” clashes against the stereotypes of gender with lyrics such as “I don’t have a d*** so you call it aggressive,” and other words along that thread. And it dazzles with its edginess and message of being called a “b****” as a compliment; owning the derogatory term toward women and claiming it for her own.
