Rising Hollywood-based indie pop star tiger del flor makes music that’s been described as “the grainy film of memories” by EARMILK and “the perfect backdrop to a midnight drive down Sunset Boulevard” by Get Some Magazine. Since launching as a solo artist, she’s garnered millions of streams on Spotify, a fanbase of over 285,000 across TikTok and Instagram, a TV appearance on Love Island, and performances at SXSW.

Tiger del flor’s “james dean” is a nostalgic and intoxicating indie pop track inspired by the glamorous wasteland of Old Hollywood stardom and excess. Inspired by cinematic classics like Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Rebel Without a Cause, and musically by ’70s disco icons like The Bee Gees, the track is a poetic journey through fame’s thrills and disillusionment. The song was produced by Jeremy Schmett (Tai Verdes), mixed by Daniel Brooks (The Marias) and mastered by the late John Davis (Lana Del Rey). “james dean” showcases tiger del flor’s talent as a rising star in the indie pop scene. The single is set to be a standout off her debut EP “see me in hell” cementing her status as one of the most promising rising indie pop stars today.

Armed with her soft, sublime vocal tone, she draws listeners deep with evocative songwriting and her use of expressive motifs that make the story engulfing. She adds that the writing was inspired by cinematic classics like Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Rebel Without a Cause, and musically by ’70s disco icons like The Bee Gees. The instrumentation is quite rich and compelling as it slowly rises to a crescendo in the chorus where she espouses various Hollywood-related excesses. The accompanying lyric visualizer splices scenes from the past.
