Telling Secrets are on the rise. Led by Vik Kovacs, the U.K./Los Angeles based modern rock band bring a classic edge to an ever evolving modern scene by bending the genre to their will. With a deep rooted foundation in rock, they mix in ambience, rap and even dabble in Bossa nova and choral music. The band have been rolling out singles throughout 2023 and 2024 leading up to the release of debut album “Telling Secrets I” coming June 14. The album will feature award winning songs “Fall Behind” (1st place for Rock in the Indie International Songwriting Network 2023) and “Fragile” (winner of the Petofi Radio single award) in addition to “Tired of Waiting” which was described as “the song of the summer” by Alyx Holcombe on BBC Radio 1 upon its debut.

While the album was written and produced by Vik Kovacs, Matt McAndrew (Rain City Drive) also receives writing credit on “Lullaby” with Zack Baker (Rain City Drive) contributing in drum production on a number of tracks. Elliot Polokoff of Cemetery Sun also handled additional production on “Tired Of Waiting” with Rachel Blum (Jonny Craig) engineering vocals for a handful of tracks. The album was mixed and mastered by Hungarian/German engineer Martin Merenyi.

The melancholy melodies, combined with ethereal vocals, create a mood of introspection and deep self-reflection. Each stanza is a poetic meditation on transience and the search for meaning in a world shrouded in uncertainty. One of the song’s most poignant moments comes in the form of the chorus, where the refrain “bliss is oblivion” is repeated like a mantra These repetitions serve to establish the theme of existence questions, and invites audiences to confront the heartfelt questions of life in relation to human experience

(They Say) Bliss Is Oblivion is Telling Secrets’ stunning exploration of the human condition, inviting listeners to consider life’s deepest questions. Through its haunting lyrics and introspective lyrics, the song challenges traditional notions of happiness, inviting listeners on a journey of self-discovery and into a world where logic is often elusive don’t see it, Telling Secrets offers a poignant reminder that truth and understanding is a journey worth taking .
