The Weeknd’s São Paulo show was a night to remember. Over 70,000 fans packed Estádio MorumBIS for this sold-out, one-night-only event on September 7th. The night delivered a spectacular experience, packed with surprise guests, jaw-dropping visuals, and a dramatic conclusion that had everyone talking.

Kicking off with a bang, The Weeknd brought out Playboi Carti, igniting the stage with an electric performance. The duo’s synergy was undeniable as Carti’s adlibs enhanced the smooth honey-drenched melody of their track. Together, they created an ethereal vibe, playing off one another’s energy against a dreamy beat.

However, Carti wasn’t the only special guest joining The Weeknd on stage. Anitta took the stage, sneaking her way into the performance by first appearing as one of The Weeknd’s backup dancers. As expected, fans went wild when she revealed herself, standing atop the structure that dominated the stage. Her presence was commanding, and her performance was nothing short of hypnotic.

As the show reached its climax, The Weeknd dropped the biggest surprise of all. A fleet of 150 drones took to the sky, spelling out the title of his new album Hurry Up Tomorrow. This project will serve as the final chapter in the trilogy that we all know and love. Fans have been eagerly waiting for this conclusion, and this dramatic sky display only fueled the anticipation.

The São Paulo show marked the continuation of The Weeknd’s epic career, following his record-breaking “After Hours Till Dawn” tour. That tour featured over 60 sold-out stadium dates and over 3 million attendees. The buzz surrounding The Weeknd shows no sign of slowing down as he prepares to head to Australia in October for four highly anticipated shows in Melbourne and Sydney.

Superstar and humanitarian- what a guy!

On top of his massive success in music, The Weeknd continues his humanitarian efforts. For the São Paulo show, he once again partnered with the UN World Food Programme, donating proceeds to the XO Humanitarian Fund. In recent years, Abel has been named the most popular artist in the world by the Guinness Book of World Records. He was also honored as Humanitarian of the Year by the Black Music Action Coalition (BMAC) in 2021. His philanthropic efforts have raised over $9 million for various causes.

One thing is clear, he’s not just a global superstar, but an artist and humanitarian committed to making a difference. Fans can’t wait to see what comes next as Hurry Up Tomorrow completes the trilogy, and the legend of The Weeknd continues to grow.
