“THE SYMPTOMS OF VANITY” BY NODISCO OUT NOW
Nodisco has just released the first single “The Symptoms of Vanity” that will be featured on their upcoming EP. The new single was based on a new project called A Long Talk at Taylors, based on a conversation at a house party in 2021. It will be the first song that opens up a five part story. “The Symptoms of Vanity” has a steady drum track and light guitar picking. There is even a sound in there that reminds me of the George Lopez theme song. Nodisco created a playful, lighthearted catchy tune while kindly dissing someone on being too vain. Telling the story of trying to move on and finding someone better who doesn’t just think of themselves. Chris’s voice has a nice range throughout and ends the song with a perfect note. It’s a fun tune, something you can throw on at any time to have a little jam session. It can fit into most playlists such as a chill, car ride, homework playlist, you get the point.
“The Symptoms of Vanity” is based on a page the girl handed me that night from the published version of Kurt Cobain’s diaries called “Journals”, where on one page he writes, “It’s hard to decipher the difference between a sincere entertainer and an honest swindler”, which then inspired me to think about saying the truth as a songwriter and what that even means, as I play with the common lyrical pop tropes of today.“

Nodisco’s new EP will feature a sonic palette of indie-rock, hyper pop and more. It will allow all listeners to be fully immersed into their world. All the music the band puts out into the universe will be remembered for the stories told throughout. Part of Chris Toufexis creative output is rooted in the fact he cannot read music. He just finds a way to make the music happen. Chris has an extensive collection of rare 90s R&B vinyls and Rolling Stones magazines that he gets his inspiration from. Nodisco is adding a refreshing flair to pop music with hints of R&B and vibing productions.
