With its latest single, The String Cheese Incident is paying respect to a late close friend.

“One More Time” is a tribute to Jesse Aratow, who was a member of the band’s management team. The song is an intimate track, allowing The String Cheese Incident’s lyrical prowess to shine. The love and grief is apparent as the chorus sings:
Thought I’d see your face one more time
I thought I’d hear your voice one more time
Gone too soon, before your time
“One More Time” by The String Cheese Incident
Keyboardist and vocalist Kyle Hollingsworth spoke about the song:
“Lyrically it speaks of remembrance and memories of our friend and manager, Jesse Aratow, who passed in 2021. I asked everyone that knew Jesse to send me a few images and memories they had of him. Then I got together with Sam Beam from Iron & Wine and we crafted this song together. I feel like in the end it was a song for everyone who has lost someone, not specifically about Jesse. This one’s gonna be hard for me to pull off live without crying.”

Fans can look out for the band’s newest album — “Lend Me A Hand” — on Sept. 8. The album will be produced by Brad Cook, known for his work with Bon Iver.
Whereas the band’s previous albums have covered a variety of genres, “Lend Me A Hand” is a stripped-back folk-rock record.
Bassist and vocalist Keith Mosley spoke on the album, saying:
“Every album’s a snapshot of the band at that moment, and this record turned out to be one of our most introspective. We were coming out of the pandemic and coming up on our anniversary; we’d lost someone who’s been an important part of our team for so long. All those thoughts and feelings coalesced into something that’s much more focused on the storytelling, and feels more like hanging out in the living room with us while we sing you some songs.”
