On October 14, beloved and iconic American singer and songwriter Steve Perry teased the upcoming release of his first holiday album by dropping a festive new single, “Winter Wonderland.” The single is the second song on the forthcoming holiday album, The Season, which releases November 5 via Fantasy Records.

Steve Perry’s familiar and powerful vocals put an all-new spin on the timeless classic, all while keeping in the nostalgic homeliness of the original 1934 version. On the track, Perry comments, “’Winter Wonderland’ is one of my favorite tracks on The Season. I have always felt a close love for Motown’s music and how it shaped my early school years. This track is a homage to that.”
The Season will feature eight classic Christmas songs re-imagined by one of rock-and-roll’s most iconic voices, including “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” “Auld Lang Syne,” and “Silver Bells.” All eight tracks on the record come straight from the heart, transporting listeners to a familiar place of comfort and familiarity associated with loved ones and meaningful traditions shared during the holidays.
As the titular season approaches, Perry continues to work in charitable efforts in keeping with the holiday’s giving spirit. Journey’s former lead singer has partnered up with the San Francisco Giants/The Giants Community Fund on a specialty car auction, including Perry’s own beloved and iconic 1979 Mercedes 450SL, which had featured in many a Journey music video. Proceeds from the auction will support the Junior Giants program, which provides a free, noncompetitive baseball and softball program for nearly 24,000 kids in more than 85 leagues in undeserved communities.
As the holiday season approaches, let Perry’s vocals and gracious example remind us of what Christmas represents. In the meantime, let’s enjoy his take on “Winter Wonderland” here.
