Drum and bass star Skellytn is powerful, from her list of records to her extensive discography. She’s the first female producer to release a North American drum and bass album (Neurocomputer with Play Me Records) and the first woman to release with the neuro (a D&B dark subgenre) label Eat Brain. Now, she’s back and better than ever with a new single, “Control,” featuring Honey-B-Sweet. The track was released on June 30 on Bassrush Records.

The Los Angeles-based producer has been dominating the drum and bass scene, and this song makes clear why. “Control” is rich in cyberpunk and industrial influences, making for a heavy hit. Its intensity is explosive, and “Control” is made complete by its insane synths and neuro sound — nobody does it quite like Skellytn. The single is made even stronger with fast-rising Australian rapper, Honey-B-Sweet, matching the drum and bass genre with her own hip-hop influence.

I’m like the cyberpunk, I got the power

Oh you think you’re slick, you get devoured

Better have my money because I’m not playing ‘round

If you don’t, then let’s throw it down

The song radiates confidence and all-consuming power, demanding the utmost attention from anyone who comes near. Skellytn said “Control” fits into an overarching narrative with a universe across her work.

The Skellytn Corporation handpicks a team of highly skilled and deadly female soldiers to undergo intense training and rigorous physical conditioning to prepare them for the ultimate battle for “Control” of the galaxy.

Skellytn just finished a 25-stop tour with Boogie T, but don’t freak out if you couldn’t make it because there’s plenty more where that came from. She’ll take over the stage at Forbidden Kingdom, Bass Canyon, Lost Lands, and Nocturnal Wonderland. Plus, Skellytn said she has a full EP on the way for fans. Follow her on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. You can also connect with Honey-B-Sweet on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. Love this sound? Keep up with the rest of what’s up at Bassrush, too.
