SARA BAREILLES & BEN PLATT PERFORM A BEAUTIFUL DUET OF “GROW AS WE GO”
Dear Evan Hansen star Ben Platt has just performed a beautiful rendition of his 2019 song “Grow As We Go” with American singer-songwriter and Broadway star Sara Bareilles. This is a duo we didn’t know we needed. “Grow As We Go,” which was co-written by Ben Abraham and Alex Hope has been Ben’s biggest streaming hit off his debut album Sing To Me Instead with over 124 million global streams. The album itself has over 337 million global streams receiving all kinds of feedback from fans and critics. Originally a solo song this sensational duo paired up to perform this incredible version at the American Idol season finale.
The song was already so beautiful but Sara is such wonderful a addition complementing Ben’s vocals very elegantly. Powerful voices behind very deep lyrics, you are bound to tear up listening to this song. The song is representative of going through change but knowing you are not alone as you do it. Growing up is scary and uncertain but the song implies that you learn as you go and you can always find someone who will cheer you on in the process.
Platt has since released a second solo album Reverie receiving 86 million worldwide streams and counting. Rolling Stone and Billboard has taken fond notice of the album. Ben is very talented and him showing that he can be a solo artist or even a in a duo is very impressive. Ben is a Broadway star just like Sara, which has probably helped them connect doing this project. Broadway is one the best ways to showcase powerhouse vocals that Ben and Sara both possessed.
