Sam Smith Gives Us Official “Gimme” Music Video

After teasing fans on Tik Tok and IG Reels, multi-award winning singer and songwriter, Sam Smith, premiered their official video for “Gimme” featuring Jessie Reyez and Koffee on Jan. 13 off of their latest album, Gloria. 

This track and music video emerges listeners into a night of fun and of letting go of inhibitions. Being recorded in Jamaica, the track is a club and dancehall infused hit. The breakout rap and reggae star, Koffee’s lyricism in her feature especially brings out that in the song. Smith, Reyez, and Koffee’s chemistry within the video make the listening experience even better!

Though the song was recorded in Jamaica, the video was shot in New York City. The video opens up in an underground club with Smith and Reyez entering the relaxed environment. However, once Reyez’s vocals start the song, viewers and listeners immediately feel a shift in the air. Suddenly, the scene becomes sensual and lively matching the passionate lyrics.

In the video we are able to see Smith, Reyez, and Koffee pump the crowd up and we even get a cameo appearance of Reyez throwing it back on Koffee in a brief shot. Smith described the track as “filth!” and the video exhibits that. More specifically, it is exhibiting what it looks like to let go and be free.
