Singer-songwriter Ryan Terrigno has just released his debut album, Alive and Well. This is Terrigno’s first album as a solo artist, previously releasing music with Orange County-based rock bands Wester and We Are The Arsenal.

The Anaheim-based singer has been making music since he was a teenager, fronting bands made with his friends at home in Orange County. Terrigno spent over a decade of his career in these bands and touring, even opening for Hawthorne Heights and performing at Vans Warped Tour.
After a 10-year hiatus, Terrigno has finally returned to the music industry with his first-ever solo album, along with 4 singles that shine in the context of the album. All of the tracks on Alive and Well tell a very honest and relatable story about finding love, growing up, and just learning to navigate life on your own.
The album starts with the title track, “Alive and Well”, a raw track about not needing much in your life other than love. Many of the songs have a similar theme, reminding us that love is all we need. “Supernova”, the most recent of the singles from the album, tells us to look inside ourselves to find our meaning.
“Stare at the Sun” is a heartbreakingly beautiful song with a story about losing someone but being willing to do anything to have them back. The song is obviously telling us a story from Terrigno’s personal life, referencing his hometown of Anaheim and talking to his sister about the person he lost. One song in particular shines and shows Terrigno’s true talent. “Quicksand” is a very relatable song about feeling like you’re consistently overwhelmed and falling behind everyone around you. The music is reminiscent of early 2000s indie rock in the best way possible, making you feel like you’re listening to music in your parents’ car again.
Terrigno closes off the album with “Cynical” which sounds like a very typical album closer. The song fits perfectly into the album yet can still stand on its own without the context of the entire album behind it. The track feels like the closing to a coming of age movie, representing the coming of age that Terrigno has had over the past decade.
Ryan Terrigno will be throwing an album release party at the Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles on November 18. Get tickets to see Ryan Terrigno perform the entirety of his new album live here!
