Read Time:1 Minute, 35 Second

Roger Perelló is a singer/songwriter who was born and raised in Barcelona but moved to London in late 2019 to pursue his dreams. Since then, he has been doing what he is most passionate about: writing songs and singing them live. From one song to the next, he can transport you from a fiesta to a tale of lost love and heartbreak. Influenced by songwriters such as Lana Del Rey and Leonard Cohen as well as pop divas like Lady Gaga and Kesha, Roger is sure to find favor with fans of these musical greats or any listener with a soft spot for vibrant pop music.

His debut single, “Fantasy,” is currently out on all major streaming platforms, as well as its acoustic version. It was released in 2019 and “Yellow & Blue” is his first release since and it’s a captivating acoustic return to the airwaves.

“Yellow & Blue” was written out of heartbreak. In the process, Roger was able to get his emotions out and process what had happened. Of the song, he says,

It is about remembering a past romantic relationship that failed with nostalgia, but from a place of acceptance. I wanted to create a song that, with raw, honest lyrics and nostalgic melodies would move people.

Vigorous guitar strums and hushed sultry vocals create the nostalgic soundscape for the song. True to the message of the song, the production remains vibrant and cheerful, though there are twangs of sadness during the reflection. The song has calmer verses and a rousing chorus that invigorates the instrumental line with more emotive vocals. Roger reminisces on the yellow and blue parts of the relationship – yellow symbolizing the perfectly happy moments and blue symbolizing the less than ideal moments. The use of color is also reflected in the music video, directed and produced by Tundra Studio, which you can view below.
