Paolo Nutini Releases “Shine A Light,” The Third Single From Last Night In The Bittersweet

After an eight year hiatus since his previous album, Caustic Love, Paolo Nutini finally returns with the release of his new single, “Shine A Light.” “Shine A Light” is the third single released from his forthcoming album, Last Night in The Bittersweet (out July 1st). Paolo Nutini’s dreamy vocals artfully combined a string section, with drums and guitar give “Shine A Light” an 80’s vibe. The song starts with strings, before switching to a simple bass rhythm that is joined in by drums. Nutini’s vocals are powerful, but with a mellow undertone that builds up to the end of the song, where he releases raspy screams while singing the ending “Shine A Light” chorus. Along with sounding as though the song could sit alongside other 80’s classics such as U2’s “New Years Day,” the visualizer for “Shine A Light” is reminiscent of video cassette cases, further evoking a feeling of nostalgia.

In addition to “Shine A Light,” Nutini has released two other tracks from Last Night in The Bittersweet. These songs, “Through the Echoes” and “Lose It,” were released as live performances titled as “Live in The Bittersweet” on Paolo Nutini’s YouTube channel. Paolo also recently performed “Lose It” on Later…with Jools Holland. Watch the live performance below:

Nutini has accumulated numerous accolades for his music as a platinum selling, four time Brit Award nominee and an Ivor Novello winner. He has amassed 8 million global album sales, 8 million UK single sales, and 1.5 billion global streams, while also collecting a remarkable 18 Platinum certifications in the UK alone. Paolo’s headlining tours sell out internationally, and he has supported legendary musical acts such as Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones. For more information on Paolo Nutini’s music, visit his website, and be sure to pre-order Last Night in The Bittersweet here.
