Anyma, member of “Tale of Us”, and founder of Afterlife has considered banning the use of cell phones in his shows. With any crowd lately, it’s common to see a sea of screens. Many people attend Afterlife shows to experience and capture the incredible visuals that have made them famous. But lately the conversation around phones at shows is starting to change.

In efforts to make events have that special feeling again, Anyma posted a poll on his socials asking for fans thought about a no-phone policy. The intention behind banning phones at future shows is to enhance the live experience. Without being occupied by screens, attendees can be present and build a deeper connection with the music. Majority of votes were in favor of a phone-free experience!

After careful consideration on the matter, Afterlife has announced they will be moving forward with the no-phone policy. The policy took effect June 27th and the rest of their shows at Hï Ibiza will be screen free.

Afterlife dropped a promo video to promote their Hï Ibiza residency, featuring a crossed-out phone icon. To make sure that fans are aware of the changes, the website states “This is a phone-free event, live in the moment.”

The decision came with mixed reviews.

Although the response from fans has been largely positive, the policy has also encountered negative feedback. Some people feel that phones are a part of our social interaction and should be utilized. While others are excited to reconnect with the rave community once more. It will be interesting to see how the no-phones policy impacts the overall experience moving forward.

How do you feel about going to an event without your phone?
