Start the week right with recent releases from New Music Friday Dance.

1. Avicii, Sandro Cavazza: “Forever Yours (Tim’s 2016 Ibiza Version)”

The late legend Avicii‘s style graces ears again with the help of Sandro Cavazza in “Forever Yours (Tim’s 2016 Ibiza Version).” Playing this song immediately brings one back to the peak of festival, beachy house in the mid-2010s. Avicii’s choice of rich, emotional vocal tones to carry some of his most famous melodies shows here as well; a delicate balance of energy.

2. Anyma, Argy, Son of Son: “Voices In My Head”

Techno giant Anyma teams up with masterful producers Argy and Son of Son for “Voices In My Head.” A semi-robotic vocal sample repeats, “I know I should sleep, but the voices in my head go -“ over and in between an eerie, percussion-heavy instrumental. Various reverberating adlibs pan around, completing the thoughts of the lyrics via sound.

3. War, Myles O’Neal: “The Cisco Kid (Myles O’Neal Remix)”

Rising producer Myles O’Neal remixes War‘s 1972 single “The Cisco Kid,” putting a house spin on the progressive soul track. Much of the original charm remains, including the vocals, guitars, and woodwinds, but O’Neal takes it to a new energetic level with a jumping bassline and deep kicks. This is it for those who crave a vintage touch in their house playlists.

4. SIDEPIECE, Barney Bones: “Ménage À Trois”

Grammy-nominated duo SIDEPIECE and multi-hyphenate Barney Bones teamed up for “Ménage À Trois.” As the title suggests, the track builds an exciting yet sensual club atmosphere. Bones’s raspy voice dances with the beat in the form of a relaxed, broken monologue as he says “What you doing here? How long you in town? Your friend is cute, too. I like when she’s around.”

5. Joshwa, Lauren Nicole: “Gravity”

Producer Joshwa and singer-songwriter Lauren Nicole invoke a dreamy ambiance with “Gravity.” This melodic tech-house track has its own gravity, drawing in the listener with unexpected interjections of rainforest animal sounds and smooth, echoing vocal harmonies that provide a sense of calmness. The production is dynamic yet maintains a gentle tension.
