This week’s New Music Friday Dance is all about what’s hot in house music. Dive in now!

1. Mau P: “MERTHER”

Mau P gets the party going with “MERTHER.” The core sample is from Ini Kamoze’s “World-A-Music,” an old reggae hit referenced by many. “Merther” refers to a trance-like state people reach after smoking weed and listening to reggae. This thumping house track reshapes the term, yet maintains the meaning with its hypnotic energy.

2. Martin Garrix, Sem Vox, Jaimes: “Gravity”

The iconic Martin Garrix teams up with Sem Vox and Jaimes for “Gravity.” This track illuminates the room with a dreamy progressive house beat. The numerous layers of sparkling synths reflect the main lyric which says “When gravity’s not around,” transporting the listener to a euphoric wonderland.

3. Kaleena Zanders, Tchami: “DADDY KEEPS CALLING”

Kaleena Zanders and Tchami create house magic with their latest single, “DADDY KEEPS CALLING.” The base of strong piano riffs and percussion uplifts the soulful vocals. A syncopated clapping rhythm drives the beat, reminiscent of country music. The lyrics describe being lost in the music, letting it fully take over.

4. HUGEL, Topic, Arash, Deacolm: “I Adore You (Argy & Mor Avrahami Remix)

Argy and Mor Avrahami put out their remix of “I Adore You” by HUGEL, Topic, Arash, and Deacolm. From the first second, a charming trance-house hybrid beat steps in. The chorus vocals are tightly layered and positively glowing with reverb, giving a big room / expansive impression to the listener. This one is sure to fit any festival setlist!

5. Cristoph, Adz: “Strangers”

English producers Cristoph and Adz release “Strangers” together. This 6-minute track offers a little bit of everything; bubbly electronic keys, a slow build, a thick, synthy bass, and smooth vocals. This melodic, progressive house track allows the listener to be present, enhanced by lyrics like “In the corner of your mind / As you sail away from me.”
