This weekend, New Music Friday Dance presents both brand-new tracks and long-awaited tracks. Experience the satisfaction of seeing an “ID” turn into an official release, and check out what’s in store:
1. Myles O’Neal: “Flashlight”
Legacy DJ Myles O’Neal makes a comeback with “Flashlight,” a deep house track that lights up the room. Mixing the addictive beat with a variety of bongos, O’Neal samples Parliament’s original 1977 Funk hit, “Flashlight.” In a music landscape full of sampling and referencing, this track honors both practices, creating something simple, yet fresh and energizing.
2. Koven, Steve Aoki: “Nervous System”
Koven and Steve Aoki make a powerful duo for “Nervous System.” Upon playing, the ears are hit with a hypnotic flow of echoes from both the vocals and instrumentals. Each sonic element stands out as the first verse builds, dropping into a stimulating hard drum and bass breakdown. Combining emotional lyrics with a super dynamic song structure is characteristic of EDM, but it hits differently when crafted by such experienced hands.

Chris Lake and Chris Lorenzo, together known as Anti Up, released “Freaky Feed Me” featuring Leven Kali. DANNY AVILA, Sam WOLFE, HNTR, and Rome Fortune display their synergy with “YES B!TCH.” This hard-hitting house track is intense in both sound and attitude, acting as a bold affirmation. The lyrics say with confidence, “Music to me is a money machine, dirty or clean / Baby got fame.” A highlight of the track is some thick synth hits that complement the bassline.
5. Knock2: “feel U luv Me”
House music’s rising prince Knock2 comes back with “feel U luv Me.” After teasing this song many times over the past year at various sets, PARTYNEXTDOOR finally cleared the vocal sample allowing for an official release – and it could not have turned out better. Knock2 is at the forefront of the house music zeitgeist, continually cooking up certified bangers, and honoring various eras of EDM in the process.
