1. FISHER & Jennifer Lopez: “Waiting For Tonight”
House giant FISHER collabs with Jennifer Lopez, sampling her 1999 hit “Waiting For Tonight.” This remix accelerates the original track with some uplifting piano chords. The vocals are mixed to sound echo-y and distant, adding dimension. The track is a nice throwback for the 90s enthusiasts out there.
2. Mau P: “On Again”
Mau P just wants to party with “On Again.” It’s mysterious and catchy; a perfect vocal debut from Mau P. The track is beautifully spacious and dynamic, as superstar producer Mike Dean added his signature dreamy synths to the track.
3. Jono Stephenson: “Midnight Sun”
From South Africa, Jono Stephenson delivers “Midnight Sun.” The song features synths reminiscent of the 2000s, with soothing yet raspy vocals. Darker, sharper textures come in for the second half of the track, adding a late-night ambiance.
4. Tinlicker & Brian Molko: “Nowhere To Go”
Dutch group Tinlicker samples Brian Molko‘s “Nowhere To Go” to create a delightful and sparkling house track. The song fills the room (or headphones) with palpable electricity, light as air, yet emotionally intense. The lyrics say, “Rage is love / With nowhere to go.”
5. Dirtyphonics: “Concentrate”
French group Dirtyphonics introduces some grit to the playlist with “Concentrate.” It is a crackling and fierce drum and bass track that commands one’s attention. Ironically, the song contains several distracting and engaging sounds; a treat to the ears.
