Some of the biggest names in music are eagerly returning with new projects for your listening pleasure. Find out who through this week’s New Music Friday playlist!

1. The Killers: “Bright Lights”

Iconic rock band The Killers brings “Bright Lights” to the table. Drawing inspiration from old American folk/country music, the song features booming, echoing vocals, a supporting chorus, and a symphony of brass and guitar lines that scream showmanship.

2. Jordana: “Like A Dog”

Rising bedroom pop artist Jordana returns with “Like A Dog,” an upbeat, humorous love song about a relationship that mirrors a dog-owner dynamic. With playful imagery and a hint of the 1960s, the lyrics make light of an otherwise problematic situation.

3. Katy Perry: “LIFETIMES”

Following the release of her most recent album, Katy Perry released a video for “LIFETIMES,” a beachy house-pop anthem. While listening, the song transports one to a festival or parade with its celebratory energy and contagious hook.

4. FINNEAS: “For Cryin’ Out Loud”

Songwriter supreme FINNEAS releases “For Cryin’ Out Loud!,” a track dedicated to finding love in a partner’s flaws. It is also the lead single off his upcoming album of the same title. Combining elements of indie rock and funk, his vision vibrantly comes to life.

5. Shawn Mendes: “Why Why Why”

Pop sensation Shawn Mendes pays homage to his acoustic roots with “Why Why Why,” where he questions his actions in a simple and relatable way. Matching the music video visuals, the track leans country/folk, like a breath of fresh air.
