MOVE OVER TOXIC FRIENDS, LENN’S “RENEGADE” IS THE EMPOWERING ANTHEM WE’VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR

Bristol-based artist Lenn is back with her third single, “renegade,” from her forthcoming EP, and it’s an honest letter to those toxic friends we all hate to love. Lenn’s beat-driven and bass-rich production is the perfect backdrop for her rallying cry against manipulators and gaslighters who refuse to address their own insecurities. With “renegade,” Lenn reveals yet another dimension of her talent and musical prowess, showcasing her distinctive vocal delivery and approach to songwriting.

‘Renegade’ was born out of a free therapy session with my co-writers where I could vent the frustration and helplessness I was feeling around that time. It’s a song about realising someone isn’t who you once thought they were, finally seeing the red flags that in all honesty were there from the beginning and resigning to the fact that you can’t control how someone writes you into their story. ‘renegade’ is a really important song for me and the production set the tone for the rest of the EP, stylistically.

Despite growing up in a small town in Hertfordshire with only Christian music in her home, Lenn has found inspiration in the music of her contemporaries, citing Bon Iver, James Blake, Banks, Ben Howard, and FKA Twigs as influences. Her unique sound has already captured the imagination of respected artists in the electronic space. Lenn also joined Icarus on their sold-out UK tour in 2022, culminating in a euphoric final show at London’s iconic Village Underground.

With accolades like BBC Upload’s “Big New Sound” and BBC Introducing’s “Showcase Artist,” Lenn is poised to strike a chord with listeners. Her third single, “renegade,” is a testament to her talent, and we can’t wait to see what else she has in store for us.
