‘Meat The Beetles’, Desert Daze, And Sustainability, Brought To You By Global Inheritance
If you were planning on meeting The Beatles at this years Desert Daze you might need a little more than a ticket to ride– but if you were planning on learning about the eco-friendly effects of consuming earths most feared species (insects), then you’ve come to the right place. This year Southern California’s psychedelic rock festival teamed up with Global Inheritance to bring the unhinged power of 60’s activism, but it is nothing you’d expect.
Marking their 20th Anniversary as a global, 501(c)3 non-profit organization, Global Inheritance is bringing the Desert Daze vagabonds a squirmy yet educational surprise. “Meat The Beetles” is a 60’s inspired cultural experience that combines the environmental movement with the mind-altering power of music and art, brought to you on a Michelin disguised plate of hot and cold insect dishes.

In an effort to spread awareness of today’s non-environmentally friendly plant-based world, renowned insect chef Joseph Yoon and his team are introducing the world to the power of the insect. Founder of Brooklyn Bugs, Yoon has been on a mission to discover and normalize the healing powers of insects. By studying with numerous universities, museums, and culinary institutions, Yoon turned his interest into a deliciously, nutrient dense, source of protein.
Between Taste Testing Record Stores to and endless “Meat The Beetles” food trucks, festival goers are going to learn about insect nutrition, preparation, and versatility– all while emitting little to no greenhouse gasses! The once jarring creatures will be disguised in chocolate covered flying ants, beetle bread, BBQ crickets and even pizza superworm– the possibilities are endless and quite delicious.
