Madison Perrott releases her second single of the year just shy of seven months after her last single, “Better Than Me.”

Madison Perrot, often dubbed the fifth D’Amelio due to her relation to the family, shows there is more to her than meets the eye. Following her hit “The Fixer” released in 2021, Madison is starting this year strong with her recent string of singles being released.

Her latest single, “side chick,” exhibits elements of alternative rock with its use of distorted vocals during the chorus and a driving guitar force heard throughout. There are also sprinkles of pop sensibilities heard, making this song a real feast for the ears. One tidbit you may catch in the song is Madison’s slight country drawl. This may be thanks to her music beginnings in Nashville, where she first landed her record deal and began her stride.

Madison situates herself comfortably in the indie genre with this piece, displaying her creativity in full view. Perrott sings comfortably about her value as a woman, declaring she is more than just a side chick; she’s the first pick. Madison shows the audience the meaning of girl power with her empowering lyrics, helping inspire courage in all women to set boundaries and make waves for their own relationships.

Moreover, Madison’s powerhouse vocals really drive the song’s motive home. She has a genuinely characteristic voice, very similar to one of her inspirations, Stevie Nicks, which makes it easy to pinpoint who the singer is. It’s one of the standouts of her artistry, along with her commanding stage presence and honest lyricism.

Madison is a new favorite on our playlist, and hopefully, “side chick” will make its way to yours as well. For all your Madison needs, make sure to follow her on her X, Instagram, and YouTube.
