Going through a breakup? Losing faith in relationships and not sure how to cope? Lunar June has you covered. Scream your broken heart out to “l-o-v-e.”
The electro-pop singer-songwriter created this “anti-love anthem,” pairing angsty synths with a highly danceable energy. Lunar June said she centers authenticity, only releasing music she feels in her bones.
I wrote [“l-o-v-e”] about the complicated and conflicting emotions of being angry with someone and feeling neglected in a relationship and frustrated with seemingly never-ending cycles, whilst also really missing them and still loving them deeply.

“l-o-v-e” is the lead single off Lunar June’s second EP, an ode to the girl i once was. Released Feb. 22, the EP grapples with learning to love yourself — even your worst parts — and growing through it.
Lunar June also brought her experience as a visual artist to release a visualizer lyric video to match. A raw, vloggy vibe highlights Lunar June’s lyricism and complements the more intense electronic production. She said she just wants “to make people dance, and move, and connect,” backing lyrics with deep meaning rather than empty words.
I want the emotion and richness that comes with the folk music I grew up on, meshed with the movement, hooks, and infectious beats of the pop music that I adore today.

The name behind Lunar June – Olivia Judd – was raised in West London with a more traditional musical background with orchestras and jazz bands. In her teenage years, she dove into producing electronic music, and the rest is history.
As an ode to the girl i once was adds onto the success of last year’s debut EP jaded/faded, it’s clear Lunar June is one to watch out for. Connect with the rising artist on Instagram, Facebook, X, and TikTok.
