Coming to a close, the festivities of day two at 2022’s Governors Ball has brought us one closer to the finale we have been waiting for. Jam-packed with music, community, fun and a boat load of other stuff, for attendees who made it this far, it already seems like each leg of the festival will have its own unique vibe or feel. Though similarities surely hold, here is how the halfway point compares and contrasts from the very beginning.

Formally opening their gates at around 11:45 am, again, it wasn’t until a little later, say around 4–5 pm, that crowd numbers got considerably larger. With the threat of rain looming for quite some time, the general consensus of attendees was cautious yet more relaxed compared to the other day. The motives behind the crowd seemed to have them more inclined to sing along to anthems and chill rather than mosh in the thick of it. Though raging evidently was had, with artists such as Diesel (Shaquille O’Neal) and Denzel Curry inciting the audience, for the most part, the lineup catered to the feels. Artists such as Gus Dapperton, Tom Odell, and Halsey brought down the house, providing all the hits the audience could ever want. Other acts that made a considerable impact that day include Peach Tree Rascals, Ashnikko, and Still Woozy, who dished out their own unique spin for the event.

One particularly fun moment that stands out today was the hectic frenzy of everyone rushing to see Joji after Roddy Ricch’s unfortunate arrest before his set. The artist who shocked the most clearly was the Yeah Right musician. Wearing a tank-top and pants, Joji inspired attendees to recite his songs verbatim. The man’s command of the crowd was truly incredible to see live in person and definitely worth your time and money. Nonetheless, other moments that deserve praise include Flume’s righteous performance (that invited much-needed chaos to the relatively tame day) and the food and drink lineup for the evening.

In summary, though not quite as insane as day one, good times still found their way to everyone who attended. For more news, be sure to stay tuned to Glasse Factory.
