Swedish singer-songwriter Léon released her lovely pop single, ‘Dancer,’ on September 10, 2021. The Swedish musician became internationally recognized from her EP single,’ Tired of Talking’ in 2015. Léon made her first American TV debut on Late Late Show with James Corden in 2016 and has headlined sold-out tours worldwide, performing at US festivals including Coachella, Bonnaroo, and Lollapalooza.

‘Dancer’ is a tenderhearted, dreamy synth-pop, accompanied by a magnificently choreographed video. This is Léon’s first single since her sophomore album debut, ‘Apart’ released in October 2020, received much praise from Vogue, Glamour, In-Style, and The Fader. She also most recently collaborated with producer Jonas Blue, ‘Hear Me Say’ released on May 28, 2021. Léon’s emotionally love-struck song, ‘Dancer’ captures the intensity of feeling fulling devoted to a lover. “You’re the dancer in the dark/ Oh the beat of my heart/ You’re the evening sky /You’re my mourning dove.” Léon’s melancholy melody and lyricism is undoubtedly a poetic masterpiece that compels you to slow dance.

Léon- Dancer

Léon’s stellar performance in ‘Dancer’ is captivating and wonderfully serene. Léon enters a room full of dancers and gracefully stage a modern dance, gesturing gentle movements. Her musical style is like a modern-day 80’s contemporary soundtrack meets soul-pop. In a surreal scene, Léon appears floating on a bed under stary night in the middle of a lake at night. “And it’s true /Now I’m riding high on a fever /And It’s you Like a wave/ it hits I go deeper.” Léon’s soulful vocals perfectly pair with a sweet-sounding chorus; it’s insanely catchy—making it a memorable song.
