A Look at Lenn’s Emotional “waist deep”

Small-town-born songstress, Lenn, shares a highly-anticipated debut EP, waist deep, today August 11th. Despite dreaming of a future in music from a young age, it was only in 2022 that the Lenn project truly started to emerge and in little over a year she’s created an impressive highlight reel. She was a vocalist on Icarus’ sold out UK tour, which climaxed with a transcendent show in London’s iconic Village Underground. Features with prominent electronic artists Icarus (Fly Boy), Hidden Face (IN/ROTATION) and Grafix on Wilkinson’s Sleepless label.

And as we celebrating the release of waist deep, let’s take a look at the title track and break it down…

Getting to this stage has been a long journey. I’m proud of the music and grateful to all those who have come alongside me. It would be on brand for me to muse on the low moments and pressures I’ve experienced doing this, but the music communicates a lot of that and I just hope it resonates and is a comfort to those going through it.

~ Lenn

The title track ‘waist deep’ seems like a perfect companion to those feelings in which we hear Lenn reach down into the depths of her fears and uproot a real sense of longing. An improvised vocal take dressed up in solemn lyrics gives the track alone a rawness unlike much music out there. It commands the attention of the listeners and creates an invitation for all who hear it to embrace the fragility of the lyrics and to make the story their own. Powerfully, it shares self-doubt and breaks through in a moment of catharsis for all who can relate.

Listen to the single and the full EP waist deep, out now!
