Ups and downs. Adoration and frustration. In “Lovesick,” KJ! tells all about a tumultuous relationship. He doesn’t shy away from being vulnerable, sharing about feeling conflicted and reaching a point where he’s “Caught between I love you and f**k it.”

Fresh from Salt Lake City, Utah, the artist weaves sounds of alt-pop, R&B, and hip-hop for a captivating listen. He oozes charisma, an upbeat groove and catchy melody hooking listeners in. But his lyrics draw you in deeper as he explores his love life: Each of the three verses in “Lovesick” takes a unique angle.

I think they’re all extensions of the same relationship, and different perspectives from different times in the same situation. I love that it can be interpreted in different ways and people can find their own stories or themselves in the stories of the verses.

~ KJ!

The mastery behind his verse matches what KJ! said he stands for. That exclamation point, he said, “represents everything being done to the fullest.” He poured his heart and soul into producing this track, which is now almost five years in the making, he said. After many rerecords, JK! said he’s satisfied with the version and the growth he’s undergone as an artist. We are, too.

New fans have plenty to explore, such as the recently released album 801s Demos and the two-track EP, Toxic. The artist is on a roll, releasing backlogged singles and creating a steady stream of your new favorite songs.

With the promise of more new music every two weeks, KJ! is spoiling us. Join in on his journey by checking out his Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok
